'What would you tell your younger self?' It's a question we hear a lot! Throwback to the last AmCham Egypt - Career Development Center employment fair, where I had the chance to reflect on that question before my talk with a group of energetic and curious graduates. As I shared my two cents on different types of courage, it struck me how much I wish someone had told me when I was starting out in my career that….

• Exploring different opportunities is never a waste of time, nor is it a sign of distraction.
• Building my network isn’t just about socializing.
• Values are personal; they aren’t something we inherit or adopt in flocks.
• Learning life skills is just as important—if not more—than maintaining a strong academic record.
• There’s no greater investment than taking the time to truly understand myself.
